Another variant of the game, three-card brag, is a more casual form of the game, allowing for more spontaneous play. The three-card version is still played in the U.K. and traces its roots to Primero, a gentleman’s game played during the American Revolution.
Unlike stud, the three-card variant uses a standard deck of cards. However, it is possible to play with short packs. As such, the name of the game is probably a bit misleading.
